Formed in October of 1997, the Environmental Co-op is the result of an ongoing effort by concerned officials and citizens of the county to take an active and positive stance on the problem of disposing of household wastes. With no landfill in the County, increasing population and diminishing space in nearby landfills, the problem of municipal solid waste disposal is getting more serious every day.
You are invited to tour the site, learn about the Co-op, and visit some of the links that will give you more information about environmental issues such as composting, recycling and waste reduction and management. More information may be obtained by e-mail or by calling the Co-op Executive Director, Marilyn May, at (972) 524-0007. Your input would be appreciated.
